Emesa Melki
Submission Intern

Emesa is the manuscript submissions intern at GLM. She is a junior at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Writing Seminars and a minor in Psychology. She has interned with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, where she worked on health and policy reports, edited articles, and drafted speeches for the Health and Care Department. Outside of coursework, Emesa writes the newsletter for the Arab Student Union at Johns Hopkins, and has worked on creating the Johns Hopkins Community Cookbook, a compilation of multi-cultural recipes from the JHU community. She grew up between Baltimore, Maryland and Lebanon. Emesa loves to write fiction and poetry that tell the stories of historically unheard voices and perspectives. In her free time, she enjoys reading high fantasy books, running, and baking elaborate desserts.
